FOUR SURE STEPS (Visit my Shop)

Pastor Jackson found me one morning, totally hopeless, idly sitting on a stone beside the road and told me of a God who could hear my cry, and who had power to rescue me. He must have seen (read) the marks of sorrow and bitterness on my wrinkled forehead! He assured me that this God – the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, The God of Jacob – is a God of wonders! He is a loving God, and He cares so much about me; and that He is ready to receive me, and do mighty things in my life. He read to me Isaiah 59:1-2 which says  ‘Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear’. Throughout the years, I had been so much against God’s word, leave alone salvation. I never imagined myself ever going to church; the thought never sank into my mind. However, this one did hit deep into my heart and mind. My pastor invited me to accompany him to his church; then we could talk further. God had definitely sent him to me, at the right time...

While at the church, my friendly pastor somehow narrated to me a bit about his past life, before he met God. His story had many similarities with my copy. This gave me courage, and I opened up my heart, and unfolded my painful, sour, unpleasant predicament in the tearful journey of running after the wind; an effort which had repeatedly resulted to the same piercing, unwanted result – hitting the wall!!. I narrated a long chronology of my frustrations, and made known to the pastor my complete lack of hope in my life. The pastor reiterated yet more that God has a good plan and intention for me. However, God wants me to turn to Him, so that I give Him room to take control over my life. After many frustrations, I ought to do things IN A DIFFERENT WAY! After repeatedly failing, I had to start all afresh, with a different formulae, a different route, altogether – I had to change the way I was doing things, the clergy advised.

Again, he read to me Zechariah 1:3 Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty.’ and made it sink into my mind that this is the condition that I had to meet – I had to TURN TO GOD!..

2 chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
