FOUR SURE STEPS (Visit my Shop)

And so, I realized that the reason I suffer is because of my sins and stiff-neckedness (Ezekiel 2:3). To bring this to an end, I had to turn to God. And after turning to God, I had to ask Him of the right way that I ought to take, so that I may live as He intents of me. I had to go back to the crossroads  Jeremiah 6:1616 Thus says the Lord:“Stand by the crossroads, and look,  and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

These scriptures made me firmly believe that I needed God, if at all I were to shift from my current situation. I had to ask for the good way (at the crossroad), and walk in it Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Isaiah 48:17 This is what the LORD says-- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.’

I had to make a personal decision, I concluded; I had to graduate from the University Of Hard Knocks! I had already had so many opinions from fellow revellers (the cheapest commodities on earth!), listened to so many voices and time had come when I had to make a choice. The decision that i was about to make was NOT going to be influenced by anybody; it would STRICTLY be between me and God. I weighed all options, and one morning, a few days after I had started attending Bible lessons with my loving pastor and father in Christ, I made a personal decision, and I acted on it so vigorously that it somehow made me a ‘laughingstock’ amongst revellers in the chang’aa dens!

In my mind, I  visualized out that I was standing on one side of a river. This was the land of poverty, lack, desperation and hopelessness. A makeshift bridge linked the  land of poverty to the wonderful green land of prosperity and happiness, in my life. I mustered energy to hastily cross over the bridge to the other side; AND I BURNT DOWN THE BRIDGE! I quit smoking cigarettes, taking alcohol and chewing miraa all in one day; at once. I prayed and told God that I have had enough of these substances, and that I needed them NO MORE in my life! God noted my commitment and answered me - I never suffered any withdrawal symptom at all...

Isaiah 14:3 And it shall come to pass in that day that the LORD shall give you rest from your sorrow, and from your fear, and from the hard bondage in which you were made to serve.
